About Jon Taylor

Jon graduated from Carnegie Mellon University with a dual degree in Electrical & Computer Engineering and Economics in 2008. After graduation, Jon started a nearly decade long career in high frequency trading, at a then small trading shop in Chicago called IMC.

While at IMC, Jon helped the company grow into the premier trading firm it is today, growing from 40 people in 2008 to roughly 250 people today. From leading the expansion of IMC into the South American financial markets, to helping build a successful U.S. equity business, Jon’s contributions over the years are endless. After a very successful career at IMC, Jon resigned in 2018 in order to focus on full time on the growth of Blitz Capital Group, his Real Estate Development company. Jon’s natural talent for pricing assets more efficiently than its competitors, has been an integral skill set into the success of Blitz Capital.

In the 5 years since forming Blitz Capital, the company has done over 30 million dollars in real estate transactions, with another 30 million dollars expected by the end of 2023.Jon also sits on the Board of a startup called Bantr Community, Inc. Outside of work, Jon is deeply involved in two charities: 1) Urban Initiatives, a charity which focuses on developing Chicago’s under privileged youth through the power of sport and play, and 2) Dr. R. W. Taylor Scholarship, set up by Jon in 2021 after the passing of his father. Jon has been on the Partner’s Board at Urban Initiatives since 2015 and currently serves at its Chair. The Dr. R. W. Taylor Scholarship awards annually a $20,000 to a local student from Jon’s childhood hometown of Bath, Ohio. Recreationally, Jon is an avid skier and spends as many days during the winter on the slopes in Park City as time allows.
